Empowering Newfoundland and Labrador
Through Food Safety, Agriculture, and Community Support

We are helping Newfoundland and Labrador residents build skills, access resources, and thrive across the province.

Kibati Community Support

Kibati Community Support Inc. is a community-focused non-profit organisation in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. For many years, we have supported immigrants and newcomers—especially those of African descent—as they settle, access essential resources, and build meaningful careers in the food and agriculture sector.

Since 2013, our founder and volunteers have supported immigrants with transportation, accommodation, employment guidance, and access to essential training.

Through partnerships with certified food safety trainers, local farmers, and community organisations, we provide food safety education access, food security initiatives, entrepreneurship support, farming empowerment, and community establishment programs. Our goal is to help individuals and families build safer, stronger, and more sustainable lives in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Why We Exist

Many people arrive with strong experience in food, hospitality, or agriculture but struggle to navigate certification requirements, local networks, and job opportunities. Kibati Community Support bridges this gap by offering training access, community connections, and culturally informed support.

Our Mission

To empower immigrants, newcomers, families, and vulnerable communities access food safety training through partnerships, Food security support, gain agricultural knowledge that promote self sufficiency, Community integration and build labour-market connections that support long-term career success in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Our Vision

A province where residents can confidently pursue careers in food safety, agriculture, and hospitality without abandoning their skills, passions, or professional backgrounds.

For eight years, Kibati Community Support has delivered staple food items to newcomer families—especially those of African descent—during the Christmas and New Year season. This initiative is fully funded by the Kibati Board and aims to ease financial pressure during the holidays.
